Headliner:

  • Kam Franklin & Friends

Kam Franklin is a dynamic interdisciplinary artist best known as the lead singer of Gulf Coast soul band The Suffers. Beyond her powerful vocals, she's a passionate activist for justice and equity—amplifying Black, queer, femme, and non-binary voices across the arts.

Her work spans music, writing, visual art, and public speaking, with appearances on Letterman, Colbert, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and more. She's performed with legends like Chaka Khan and Questlove, released genre-blending projects like the Bayou City Comeback Chorus, and earned awards from the Houston Press and Houston Arts Alliance.

Franklin’s new single, “Byrd and Shepard,” is a bold reflection on hate, history, and hope—highlighting her mission to inspire change through art. Whether on stage, in the studio, or on national panels, Kam Franklin continues to lead with heart, soul, and purpose.
