Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
The legacy
Dan Electro’s has been the Heights’ neighborhood stage since 1988. It all started with guitarist Teri Greene’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians

For patrons
Not here to play? Perfect. Grab an ice-cold beer or a craft cocktail, slide into a vintage booth, and let Houston’s most eclectic soundtrack wash over you. Greyhounds & The Point
Headliner:
Greyhounds
Special Guest:
The Point
Keyboardist/vocalist Anthony Farrell and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Trube met and began collaborating over 20 years ago, over a shared love of The Meters. The duo has recruited a number of drummers over the years, including ace Austin session player Russell Lee, who currently occupies that seat. For a decade, Farrell and Trube were mainstays in JJ Grey's MOFRO, but left in 2016 to focus exclusively on Greyhounds. They've released five full-length studio albums and one full-length live record (for Ardent Records and Nine Mile Records) and developed a unique funky Texas sound that Trube describes as "Hall & Oates meets ZZ Top." The band also frequently records and collaborates with dozens of other Austin musicians in their home studio Bud's Recording Services.

Whiskey Wednesday! The Waylanders
Headliner:
The Waylanders
From the vibrant musical landscape of Denton and Ft Worth, TX, The Waylanders emerge as a dynamic duo that marries Rock-N-Roll grit with Honky Tonk flair. Comprised of the punchy rhythms of our female drummer, Dani, also on backing vocals, and the twangy melodies of Joey on guitar, harmonica, and lead vocals, this two-piece band channels the renegade spirit of Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Their sound is deeply rooted in the rebellious vibes of 70s country, enriched with the soulful feel of the blues and harmonies of bluegrass.
The Waylanders have carved out a niche with their distinctly nostalgic retro style, bringing a lively and unexpectedly robust presence to the stage that belies their modest setup. Their performances are a high-energy affair, captivating audiences with a sound that feels both familiar and innovative.

Thirsty Thursday! Igor & the Red Elvises
Headliner:
Igor Yuzov was born in Germany, raised in Ukraine and studied in Russia. He grew up in the former Soviet Union, where folk music was the norm and rock'n'roll was illegal. A rebellious streak, led him to seek out the forbidden music. As soon as it became possible, Igor left Russia for America with his "Folk'n'Roll" band Limpopo, and was personally greeted by Ronald Reagan. In 1993, Limpopo won Ed McMahon's Star Search and their popularity began to blossom. In 1995, Igor dreamed that Elvis Presley came to him and told him to start playing rock'n'roll. Igor and his Russian friends became Red Elvises and gave street performances on Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade. As their crowds grew larger, the City of Santa Monica ordered them to discontinue their street performances. Evolving over the years, Igor's music has been labeled "Siberian Surf Rock" which contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance. Over the past 20 years, Red Elvises have constantly toured all over the world with occasional breaks to record new music and to participate in film and television projects.
As an independent band, Red Elvises have produced 12 studio albums, two live albums, a live concert DVD, and a Greatest Hits compilation. Some of their most notable film contributions include music and or performances in "Six String Samurai", "Mail Order Bride", "Armageddon", "Skippy", "Melrose Place", "Fastlane", "Penn and Teller's Sin City Extravaganza", "VH-1 Behind the Music", and "MTV". Red Elvises have performed for large festivals, private parties, and played on massive stages such as 2005's Live 8 Benefit Concert. No matter where they perform, Igor & Red Elvises always bring the party with them.

Show up with an instrument, add your name, and plug in around 7:30 PM. Blues, jazz, funk, R&B, and experimental grooves share equal airtime. Veterans swap wisdom, first-timers get genuine encouragement, and surprise guests lift the room higher. Think impromptu master class with a loving crowd. No cover, no ego—just pure collaboration.
For patrons
Not here to play? Perfect. Grab an ice-cold beer or a craft cocktail, slide into a vintage booth, and let Houston’s most eclectic soundtrack wash over you. From smooth jazz to blistering slide-guitar duels, every set feels like a mini-festival. Between songs the covered patio becomes a living social feed where locals, tourists, and pros trade stories under string lights. Tuesday slump cured.
Why it matters
Houston is vast. Finding an authentic room where talent and audience mingle this naturally is rare. At Dan Electro’s the Jam & Mixer is part concert, part neighborhood reunion, part creative incubator. Come to play, come to discover, or just come to raise a glass and feel the city’s heart beat a little louder.

Heart Byrne plays Talking Heads!
HeartByrne pays tribute to Talking Heads and David Byrne, who fused pop, funk, art rock, and African rhythms into perhaps the most adventurous, danceable and timeless music to emerge from the new wave movement. HeartByrne picks up the torch where the seminal concert film 'Stop Making Sense' left off, breathing new life into the classics and pushing the grooves into uncharted sonic territory. What began as an informal ‘hoot night' has evolved into a must-see touring act featuring vocalist Darin Murphy, lead guitarist Josh Pearson and some of Austin, TX's most talented musicians.

Whiskey Wednesday! The Filthy Heathens at Dan Electros
Headliner:
The Filthy Heathens came together during the chaos of the pandemic, sparked by the chemistry between Bronson Hetzer, Ryan Palcic, and “Captain” Craig Bishop. Things got serious fast with the addition of guitarists Cody Doench and Cavin Kimble. With five members locked in, the band took off.
From Southern grit to alt-edge, classic country to hard rock, their sound defies easy classification. It's rich, raw, and rooted in something deeper than genre. This is music you can’t quite label — and that’s the point. Inspired by legends like Skynyrd and Waylon, with a nod to modern acts like Blackberry Smoke and The Steel Woods, their songs are raw, road-tested, and built to be felt.
Known for high-octane live shows and a growing regional fanbase, The Filthy Heathens are hitting stages across the country with a packed tour schedule and festival season. One gig at a time, they’re building something real — and it’s catching on. Live, The Filthy Heathens go full-throttle — and so do their crowds. They love to put on a show and bring a room to life. Every performance is a shot of energy designed to pull you away from your phone — and everything else going on in the world. Their debut EP Etheridge dropped May 2025, led by the singles “Tupelo Sun” and “Devils Like Me.” The fuse is lit — and they’re just getting started.

Whiskey Wednesday! Tylor and the Train Robbers
Headliner:
Tylor and the Train Robbers
For the past decade, Tylor & the Train Robbers have been carving their own path across America’s heartland with their rootsy blend of country and Americana. After years of relentless touring, their boots are worn thin and their sound honed sharp, winning over crowds wherever they play.
At the band’s core are brothers Tylor Ketchum, Jason Bushman, and Tommy Bushman. Tylor leads as frontman, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter, crafting vivid stories through his lyrics.
“Ketchum has a voice laced with the same western gravelly baritones that tend to stand out as "Western" but his approach is decidedly more rock than country, and his delivery still touches on poetic.”
— Josh Crutchmer
Jason (bass, harmonies) and Tommy (drums, vocals) provide the steady pulse that defines their signature sound, while Antonio Vazquez’s lead guitar adds emotional depth and fire.
“Perhaps no band combines what Western roots music has always been and what it will become quite like the Train Robbers. It is this combination of tradition and fresh take that makes them a must-listen.”
— Josh Crutchmer
Now, as they prepare to release Hum of the Road, excitement among fans is building. Recorded during a Southern tour at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, TX—with Cody Braun (Reckless Kelly) producing and Adam Odor engineering—the album captures the spirit of the open road. Mixed by Jonathan Tyler in Austin, it delivers ten tracks that travel from rock and roll to country swing, psychedelic jams, and heartfelt folk ballads.
Each song on Hum of the Road feels like a stop along a journey—rooted in tradition yet full of life and forward motion. It’s a record that embodies both the soul of Americana and the restless energy of a band built for the long haul.

ZG Smith blends vintage Americana with modern grit, delivering smooth vocals and evocative storytelling that channel the golden age of country with a fresh twist. Whether he's crooning under neon lights or kicking up dust on festival stages, ZG brings charm, swagger, and a whole lot of rhythm.
Lindsay Beaver, known for her fiery vocals and electrifying stage presence, fuses blues, country, and rock ‘n’ roll into a sound that’s raw, soulful, and unmistakably hers. With roots in Austin’s legendary music scene and a voice that echoes the spirit of Patsy Cline and Etta James, Lindsay brings honky tonk heat with every note.
Two artists. One unforgettable night. Come for the twang, stay for the soul.

Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
The legacy
Dan Electro’s has been the Heights’ neighborhood stage since 1988. It all started with guitarist Teri Greene’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians
Show up with an instrument, add your name to the chalkboard, and plug in around 7:30 PM.
See you Tuesday, Music starts at 7:30, memories start the moment you walk through the door.
