The legacy
Dan Electro’s has been the Heights’ neighborhood stage since 1988. It all started with guitarist Teri Greene’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians
Show up with an instrument, add your name, and plug in around 7:30 PM. Blues, jazz, funk, R&B, and experimental grooves share equal airtime. Veterans swap wisdom, first-timers get genuine encouragement, and surprise guests lift the room higher. Think impromptu master class with a loving crowd. No cover, no ego—just pure collaboration.
For patrons
Not here to play? Perfect. Grab an ice-cold beer or a craft cocktail, slide into a vintage booth, and let Houston’s most eclectic soundtrack wash over you. From smooth jazz to blistering slide-guitar duels, every set feels like a mini-festival. Between songs the covered patio becomes a living social feed where locals, tourists, and pros trade stories under string lights. Tuesday slump cured.

Known for their high-energy performances, Texas String Assembly has quickly evolved from local Austin favorites to international touring staples.

The Stats: 200+ shows across the US, Europe, and Mexico since their 2022 debut, Doggabone.

Space City Cats is a volunteer run non profit focusing on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) / rescue efforts and an effective and compassionate approach to protect our community and our feline friends. Every single cat TNR'd prevents 100 more from being born homeless and unsafe, cats that would face hunger, illnesses and hardship. One surgery creates a ripple effect of protection, health and hope. Houston - WE CAN DO BETTER! Our fundraiser supports the ongoing work that makes an impact possible. All proceeds go directly toward spay/neuter, medical needs and essential supplies. Founded in 2004, Flow Tribe was solidified in the wake of Hurricane Katrina's
destruction with the mission to bring the next generation of the New Orleans' sound

Tribe performing over 120 shows a year crossing the country multiple times from
the biggest festival stages to the nicest venues.
Flow Tribe is made of six seasoned blue-collar musicians who grind out the good
times. They carry on the tradition of following the highway to wherever the next
crowd congregates. Always full of energy and ready to go with a sound that is sure
to get your backbone cracking and feet moving. The soul of the Crescent City can

The Filthy Heathens came together during the chaos of the pandemic, sparked by the chemistry between Bronson Hetzer, Ryan Palcic, and “Captain” Craig Bishop. Things got serious fast with the addition of guitarists Cody Doench and Cavin Kimble. With five members locked in, the band took off.
From Southern grit to alt-edge, classic country to hard rock, their sound defies easy classification. It's rich, raw, and rooted in something deeper than genre. This is music you can’t quite label — and that’s the point. Inspired by legends like Skynyrd and Waylon, with a nod to modern acts like Blackberry Smoke and The Steel Woods, their songs are raw, road-tested, and built to be felt.
Known for high-octane live shows and a growing regional fanbase, The Filthy Heathens are hitting stages across the country with a packed tour schedule and festival season. One gig at a time, they’re building something real — and it’s catching on. Live, The Filthy Heathens go full-throttle — and so do their crowds. They love to put on a show and bring a room to life. It all started with guitarist Teri Greene’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians
Show up with an instrument, add your name, and plug in around 7:30 PM. Blues, jazz, funk, R&B, and experimental grooves share equal airtime. Veterans swap wisdom, first-timers get genuine encouragement, and surprise guests lift the room higher. Think impromptu master class with a loving crowd. No cover, no ego—just pure collaboration.
For patrons
Not here to play? Perfect. Grab an ice-cold beer or a craft cocktail, slide into a vintage booth, and let Houston’s most eclectic soundtrack wash over you. Houston Music Classifieds is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that started in 2022 as a place to post daily show listings happening in the city. Since then, however, we have expanded from just posting live music events to hosting live music events ourselves. Creating a stronger sense of community within the Houston music scene is a part of our mission, so we strive to bring together musicians and music lovers alike. Another way we support the local scene is by posting interviews with up-and-coming Houston artists, as well as by posting other resources, such as information about local venues and open mics. We are so grateful for the support we have received from the community over the past couple years, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for the Houston music scene.

A group that could only form in Houston, Yaupon is characterized by tight grooves, wistful vocals, virtuosic guitar melodies, and a dynamic live show. Taking inspiration from Wilco, The War on Drugs, and Sheryl Crow, Yaupon creates their own brand of eclectic indie rock. Yaupon's upcoming album, Always Right on Time, explores themes of fatherhood, technology, romance, distance, and living in the moment. The album's tight production puts forward Yaupon's unique blend of groovy indie music with touches of alt country, psychedelia, and loud rock.
