Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
The legacy
Dan Electro’s has been the Heights’ neighborhood stage since 1988. It all started with guitarist Teri Greene’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians
Show up with an instrument, add your name, and plug in around 7:30 PM. Blues, jazz, funk, R&B, and experimental grooves share equal airtime. Veterans swap wisdom, first-timers get genuine encouragement, and surprise guests lift the room higher. Think impromptu master class with a loving crowd. No cover, no ego—just pure collaboration.
For patrons
Not here to play? Perfect. Grab an ice-cold beer or a craft cocktail, slide into a vintage booth, and let Houston’s most eclectic soundtrack wash over you. From smooth jazz to blistering slide-guitar duels, every set feels like a mini-festival. Between songs the covered patio becomes a living social feed where locals, tourists, and pros trade stories under string lights. Tuesday slump cured.
Why it matters
Houston is vast. Finding an authentic room where talent and audience mingle this naturally is rare. At Dan Electro’s the Jam & Mixer is part concert, part neighborhood reunion, part creative incubator. Come to play, come to discover, or just come to raise a glass and feel the city’s heart beat a little louder.
See you Tuesday, Music starts at 7:30, memories start the moment you walk through the door.

Late Night with Ryder The Eagle at Dan Electro's
Headliner:
Ryder The Eagle
DIY hero, fallen Romeo, karaoke weirdo — the Mexico-based French balladeer is everything (and nothing) you might expect from an art-rock divorcé chasing dreams at your local dive bar. With lo-fi synthy soundscapes, lyrical melodies, poetic songwriting, and cathartic one-of-a-kind performances, Ryder The Eagle tells his history with love more than his love stories - coating romantic despair with a chiseled wit that’ll transport you straight into a Kaurismäki movie soundtracked by a caffeine-driven Leonard Cohen.

Shawn Allen's Music Mixer & Jam
The legacy
Dan Electro’s has been the Heights’ neighborhood stage since 1988. It all started with guitarist Tery Green’s Tuesday Blues Jam and lives on today through host Shawn Allen, whose easy charisma keeps the night loose, inclusive, and absolutely electric. Every riff still echoes that original spirit of community and creative risk-taking.
For musicians
Show up with an instrument, add your name to the chalkboard, and plug in around 7:30 PM.

Beans Barton’s Shop: Look and Listen Art Exhibit and Auction
50 years as an obscure local musician. My band "The Bipeds" were the first band to play at Dans and we played monthly at Dan Electros from 1988 until 2013. 5 Houston Press Music Awards for original music. At each performance I would paint a painting, I called it "Performance Art", and I would auction the piece off at the end of the night with all money for The Houston Food Bank. For this event, a dear friend of mine since the 60's, Don "Bambino" Arnold has recently passed. He was also a patron of my art and amassed a nice collection over the years. His family asked me to auction off his collection of my art with all money going to the Houston Food Bank. I will display the art on tables for a silent auction. I will produce a painting during the event and live auction it off at the end. I will have a discography of my recorded music to play as a soundtrack during the silent bidding.
